I thought the boys did great. We had a few mishaps but overall pitching was
excellent and defense was good. Unfortunately, sometimes in Little League
the outfield is where they put kids that are not quite as good with their
glove and is usually a place to hide a weaker player. I promise those days
are over. We need to collectively let the kids know how important the
outfield is. For example, Will Krywicki has one of the best gloves on the
feild and I do not hesitate to put him in Center. It may have gone unnoticed
but he made several great plays that easily could have been extra base hits.
Talk to your son about how important all positions on the feild are and tell
them to strive to do their best in every spot.
I think this is a great group of kids and I know their are some really good
times ahead. Just let them know that it is early in the season and there is
no pressure. If they go out and play as hard as they can and never give up,
they will be very hard to beat no matter what age group they are playing.
Please wear grey uniforms with black sleeves, black hats and bring their
pullovers. I looks like it could be cool this weekend. We also have 4 boys
playing in a state champion basketball tournament so please be patient with
us this weekend as we try to cram all of these activities in.
If all goes well we will be wearing white on Sunday!!
